...all about me. Or some of it.
If you've clicked this far then hopefully you may have read some of my work and even more hopefully you have liked what you have seen. For what you have seen I know it's only a taster of what I can do, it's limited for now, but I do hope to post some more meatier stories soon.
So...who am I and where did I start? As you know, I'm Neill , the website name kind of gives it away! I'm 37 and live in the South of England. I have lived always with the mind of a writer, I'm a habitual people watcher, a life gazer, a dreamer without my own dreams. That was until I looked upon a course for Creative Writing. I always thought I could put images down in words, bring narrative to life and a heart in dialogue.
My inspirations just come from normal folk that we all see every day. You won't find me writing the next summers blockbuster movie (just yet!) I see what life appears to be in the eyes of many. At this point in my 'career' if you can call it that, I am just an observer, a fly on the wall, a minds eye. For the people that have read my work, they seem to like how I put things in perspective. I hope to think it's true.
In time, I hope some of my work can reveal more of me; as much as write about others there is a lot of me within the characters I write about. I think almost any writer puts as much as themselves in to the people they create. At the moment, I'm just toying with the ideas and techniques to write better and to portray a story. I'm still learning this craft — just because I have a website with my own name on it, I do not yet profess to be an 'author'. Not yet. (Though if you feel I do, please let me know!)
So, if you're still here, please feel free to comment on the pieces. Be mean if you wish, but nicer would be nice!
Thanks to Keith for hosting my site and for his perennial help and guidance. Cheers Brains!
It's getting better, isn't it? I think so...so much so I can't even bear to look at the older stuff at the bottom! I worry at what shocking errors I will find...maybe it's better that way; signs of progression!
